0. All iTunes database versions tested are now accessible directly.  iTunes will not be started unless program is not able to open the iTunes database file.
1. On event log panel there is now a new tab which lists all selected playlists with tracks.  On left is icon next to status field letting user know the status of transfer “In Queue”, “Copy”,”Copied”,”Skipped”,”Failed”.  IF skipped or failed then reason will be displayed.  Ratings also displayed as stars.  I wanted to work out how to use images in the list items.
2. When doing restore, you can again view the contents of backed up iTunes database files.
3. Speed of updates increased.
4. Media types correctly linked to iTunes playlists inc TV Shows, Video Podcasts etc.

0. Changed: Turned off fast iTunes database write code until I can work out how to decrypt the .itl file which had its encryption method changed by Apple with iTunes 8.1. Code now uses the Apple SDK to update iTunes.

1. Added: Failed events log now include tracks which were ignored if the program thought they were duplicates.

2. Added: Option to backup iTunes database before updates start. User can now opt to not have this done.

3. Changed: Delete button on restore options screen now locks to bottom left when form is expanded.

5. Fixed: Bug where songs would not copy to folders if the folder had trailing dots like "album..."

6. Removed: I removed option to copy tags. This is done automatically now.

7. Removed: Selection of .itl file. The iTunes file is picked up directly from iTunes.

Fixed issue where iTunes database had entry for track but had flagged the track as deleted. iDumpPod2iTunes believed the track existed so did not copy it from the iPod to the PC. If iTunes reports the track as existing but it is missing from the disk then iDP2I will copy the track.

4. Fixed: Path created from album/artist etc ending in “…..” would cause copy to fail.
5. Changed: When iTunes starts and issues a user dialog, program now pops up a notice in bottom right of screen asking user to reply to iTunes.  When user completes task, dialog unloads and app continues.

  • Finally fix the errors with Unicode when transferring songs.

  • Fix a bug if the destination filename was great than 256 which is the maximum file length for a filename in windows, if the destination filename exceeds this value an error is reported or skipped if unattended copy is selected.
  • Fixed and tweaked a few small things.

14th April 2005 - v1.0.4

  • You can now choose your own output format for your songs, using the tags as defined on the output tab.
  • Added the option to output your playlists, All playlists are exported to the root directory of the output path.
  • And one small addition is you can go full screen to see all of your songs.

  • Added a multi language option on the installer.
  • Added a new option on the menu bar to allow you to copy iDump to your iPods root directory.So simply connect your iPod to any PC and run iDump from you iPod.

  • Fixed the problem where iDump would crash while coping, this was due to my illegal character routine not working properly.

4th May 2008 - Version: 2.5.2

Added: Cancel button for Sync iTunes scan.
Fixed: Selecting music then selecting conversion type, focus is given back to songs.
Fixed: Backup program would fail when running on some Vista machines due to problems with Vista security.
Changed: When exporting audio which has no tags, program will replace unknown with Audio or Video key words.
Changed: On exit, idumpPro automatically terminates other iDump processes like export/cd burning.
Changed: Unmount of iPod moved to an external program to avoid locking issues.
Changed/Fixed: Backup program modified with reduced options for ease of use. Fixed problem with backup corruption when size reached 4GB. Backup also splits every 2GB.

25th Apr 2008 - Version: 2.4.9

Fixed: Loading 6000+ songs in main window would cause flicker updates.
Fixed:
On some systems idpmutex would complain of not being able to load skin.
Fixed: Backup program would error after backing up over 60 GB data (out of memory error).
Added: New button added to backup program to get the program to locate the drive with the most free space.
Changed: When minimize main screen, it appears in the task bar at bottom of the screen.
Changed: Backup program only displays warning messages in event window instead of every event.
Changed: Backup program now displays song/album being saved instead of file name (if song has tags).
Changed: Selecting export folder will open browse dialog to last folder (ignored for disks)



27th Mar 2008 - Version: 2.4.8

Fixed: Sometimes the media player would not start to play the next track.
Fixed: Clicking Burn CD button, then cancel and then Burn CD, message "Drive already in use" would be issued and you had to close/restart the program.
Updated: New backup/restore wizard created. This allows for better backup/recovery of large iPods.

27th Mar 2008 - Version: 2.4.6

Fixed: Several bugs for playlists.

Fixed: Problems loading music to memory during conversion - VISTA issue and could cause app to crash.

9th Mar 2008 - Version: 2.4.5

Fixed: Import from iTunes routine was broken in ver 2.4.4. Now working.
Fixed: idpMutex would sometimes issue an error when looking up windows folder.
Added: Program listens to see if iPod has been unplugged. If it has it will stop playing and shutdown.
Added: If using on WinXP or Vista and you close program, it will ask if you want to unmount the iPod.
Added: When you rip a cd, the cover can now be imported to all iPods which support album artwork.

26th Feb 2008 - Version: 2.4.4

Fixed: Minor bugs.
Fixed: Program would crash on some machines when trying to obtain CD info from internet FreeDb.org
Fixed: Created a work-around to stop cover-artwork which is written to iPod during RipCd for Nano3g and Classics being indexed to more than 1 album.
Fixed: Issues with RipCd code which could on some rare events cause app to crash.
Fixed: Some Audio CD writing would error with "Low-Quality" on files which were ok.
Fixed: Songs would appear as un-synced when then were already synced with iTunes. Also now get correct iTunes library folder for transfer. Minor bugs also fixed.
Changed: App will now get iTunes.exe location from registry and library location from iTunes.xml file. No longer can be set manually. This was to cut down on user confusion.

20th December 2007 - Version: 2.2.4

Added: iDumpPro will now check drives for out of space errors when importing and exporting.
Added: When exporting and converting files, iDumpPro will check to see if destination is of type "removable media". If it is, iDumpPro will write out a dummy file first to check the integrity of the media as some media is not reliable.
Changed: Local help file has been replaced with online help. When you click on the help icon, your browser will start and the help page will be displayed.
Changed: Stream column information reduced.
Fixed: Stream song positions would not save.
Fixed: Program would crash on detecting certain error during CD-change status.
Fixed: When moving songs between playlists and you exit, the updates did not get written to the iPod.
